Superheroes - Climb The Walls

Label: Superheroes
Format: CDS
Catchy, but uninspiring indie rock with hints of Pulp, the Cure, Joy Division, British Sea Power from new British-based group the Superheroes

Review

The Superheroes sound a lot like many, and not much like anything. There are hints of Pulp, the Cure, Joy Division, British Sea Power, but no self-realised style to speak of. Don't get me wrong ! This is a decent enough EP, but it's just a bit boring. There's nothing much in it. Sure, it's relatively catchy, and it has got the affected working class accent, but it's lacking the raw power, intuitive drive and originality it seeks in it's predecessors. Mimicry may be the best form of flattery, but surely ingenuity comes close.

Track Listing:-

1 Climb The Walls
2 These Grey Days
3 Nihilistic Youth
