Hero and Leander - Tumble

Label: Tapete Records
Format: CD
Superficially sophisticated, but ultimately sluggish pop on debut album from Liverpool/Essex/Reading-based group, Hero and Leander

Review

I pray to thee God that thee puteth an end to all those U2/Arcade Fire choir boy bands. Hero & Leander are yet another Hallelujah! closet top-40 band. The sophisticated pop music ramshackle of Hero & Leander seems to come from a pill diet of ups and downs, but only, of course only, if it wouldn’t come to disturbing the traffic, for example. Melodically well below par, Hero & Leander, is muzak designed for headphones, and to be listened to on the tube, or in your suburban traffic jam car. ‘Tumble’ is examplary of how the true merit in music is gradually drifting away from genuine human response. To an extent Hero & Leander are about today's cowardice in music.
