Pow Pow - Last Days On Earth

Label: Fysisk Format
Format: CD
Multi-influenced, but bland-sounding electronica from Norwegian-based band, Pow Pow

Review

Should you plan to space out between Christmas time and the New Year, then the latest Pow Pow album could prove to be your perfect companion. The album comes as a cute white package with tree like green and brown lines and lettering. Pow Pow next embark on a tediously predictable reindeer ride though. Second-hand patterns from old Orbital albums built the general theme to 'Last Days on Earth' and their new age bubbly sounds go on for almost an hour. Then again, those green and brown lines hint at a three dimensional use. One can never tell, particularly not when an album title reads 'Last Days On Earth'. Picking up glittering prizes along the way, all for their own good, this album has captured many influences. Pow Pow's 'Last Days On Earth' merits from a multitude of ideas, yet ultimately settles for the blandest result. Loungy cappuccino muzak.
