Utopians - Britain's Littlest Killer

Label: Select Label
Format: CDS
Synth-influenced second EP from Brighton-based indie group, the Utopians

Review

The Utopians hail from Hove, just near Brighton. and ‘Britain’s Litttlest Killer’, their second EP single, features three tracks. The first track, ‘The Utopians’ (Radio Edit)’ is a synth pop number with edgy guitars, Singer Nick Carlisle’s vocals sound like a cross between Gary Numan and DEVO. ‘Piece of Me’ is sung with Nick being joined by Jamie Manners of the Vichy Government and is fast and thrashy emo rock, while ‘Stamp It Out’, which is again synth based, is eerie in tone and sounds like a bizarre Soft Cell or Human League number.
