intro
Andrew Twambley photographs punk legends Public Image Ltd at the at the O2 Ritz in Manchester.
Of all the punk reformations of recent years there have been few as convincing as that of Public Image Ltd, who returned in 2009 after a seventeen year absence. The band, which has maintained the same line-up since it got back together of former Sex PIstol John Lydon on vocals, earlier members Bruce Smith (drums) and Lu Edmonds (lead guitar), plus Scott Firth (bass), has toured regularly. It has also released two critically acclaimed albums, 'This is PIL' (2012) and 'What the World Needs Now' (2015), and has a new five CD/two DVD and six LP box set entitled 'The Public Image is Rotten (Songs from the Heart' due out in July. These photographs of John Lydon were taken on Public Image Ltd's latest tour, which they have called 'The Rotten Tour', at the O2 Ritz in Manchester by Andrew Twambley on the 16th June.
