intro
Exuberant 60's influenced pop on debut EP from London-based group, the Lightwings
The Lightwings recently performed at Liverpool’s Cavern as part of theInternational Pop Overthrow showcase, which originated in the US and has spread overseas. They have also forged a solid reputation with BBC Radio and Gary Crowley over the last two years. More recently, The British quartet has now released a single entitled ‘Who Pulled The Trigger?” The players, James Rowland (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Luke Bartlett, (lead guitar), Graeme Phillips (bass) and Jon Hunt (drums), provide great energy and imagination, which fuels the Lightwings sound. “Lately I feel like I’m going crazy, everything I do seems to phase me,” the song begins. It feeds and satisfies our insatiable urge for remarkable, timeless pop. 'Who Pulled The Trigger?' balances the popability with an air of mystery Twanging guitar, cocky lead vocals cascading harmonies, lovable lyrics, and an infectious Brit pop beat are all topped off with a quirky surprise ending. Essentially, if the Hollies shared a flat with the Dave Clark Five, and Herman’s Hermits, opened a six-pack and passed around the guitar, this is what you’d get.
