Miscellaneous - Beer

intro

In the latest in his 'Evidently Spencertown' poetry series Spencer Robertshaw provides a poem about the pleasures and undoubted pain of beer drinking

Makes your gran look good in a thong Or vocally inept burst into song Is it me or am I just wrong? Beer Just last night or the other day It made a driver turn the wrong way Then the police had something to say Beer Oliver Reed could put it away He sang 'Wild Thing' in his special way It always made his days gay Beer Have you heard of this stuff called wine? Posh people drink it and say they feel fine It's not Tetleys so they’re all queer Beer People who like it far too much Go all flabby and fat to touch They stick their chests out trying to be butch Beer Go to the doctor’s for a diagnosis You drink in excess is the prognosis Now you’re the one who's got cirrhosis And the fragrant gift of halitosis Don’t even mention the mild psychosis BEER
