Miscellaneous - The Fall

intro

Spencer Robertshaw in the latest in his 'Evidently Spencertown' poetry column writes of drugs and the media lifestyle in 'The Fall'

Armani washing up gloves, dishcloth's by Prada She’s a fashion victim, although it’s getting harder Time takes it’s time to chip, chip away But it does and it won't go away Hair’s extended, teeth are capped Look too long and knuckles are rapped Silicon bits fill her blouse They always stick out And still arouse Living the dream Seize the day Costs too much Can't afford to pay Used to party all night All weekend Now the flashing lights Send her round the bend She’s walking the streets The seedy part of town Charlie money, for a run around Breakfast at Tiffany’s not today Spike in the arm, it all goes away Victim of a fashion, but no bright lights Stairway to heaven Take in the sights Life took her life away Was promising when it started Another victim, the end of the day What becomes of the broken hearted?
