intro
Summery and lush-sounding latest EP from ex-Cocteau Twins member, Robin Guthrie
Robin Guthrie, being one half and co-founder of post punk icons the Cocteau Twins, returns with a 4 track EP of trademark instrumentals best described as lush. The multi instrumentalist/producer/writer has worked with a wealth of bands including Edwyn Collins, John Foxx, This Mortal Coil and Felt. In fact it would probably be easier to name who he hasn't worked with. The title track is a summery and beautifully layered masterpiece, nothing new for anyone familiar with his style, but still hypnotic. Opener 'Horse Heaven' sets the tone beautifully. 'Petals' and 'Slightly Out of Focus' are of a similar vein but nonetheless entrancing and drenched in summer sun. If you don't own any Robin Guthrie material, this is a great starting point and will probably have you seeking out more.
