intro
Our Website of the Month is 'The Vocalist', a resource for singers
The Vocalist http://www.vocalist.org.uk aims to be a one stop resource for singers from any approach. It offers a wealth of information from free online singing lessons to "breathing exercises, ear training, aural/pitching applications, posture exercises, online vocal scales, information on working in the music business, singing books and repertoire, links to dedicated vocal sites and related resources for vocalists plus an evergrowing database of singing tutors, classes, schools & workshops." And you need a lot of lung capacity to say that in one breath. There are gig lists, plenty of links to other useful sites, books to buy and a varied interaction section which includes the option to send e-card as well as the ever popular classified section. There was a chat room available previously, but this has now been closed down to "protect our younger users from potential abuse" which seems a real shame. There is comprehensive career advice, multiple software downloads, advice about buying and setting up equipment and even a "fun stuff" section.
