Chilled out Americana on melancholic-sounding debut EP from Memphis-based act, North American Royalty

North American Royality come from Memphis, Tennessee and Elvis country. 'Holding Me' opens this three song EP on three inch CD, which has been released on Edition 59, an offshoot of German label Vollwert Records. It is a cool Americana number with a slow beat and a sad violin, and an absolutely charming twee-sounding vocal from singer Elise Berkes. This is perfect chill out music, which sounds very much like the Sundays or Camera Obscura. 'Pretty Part' is heartbreakingly sad, sublime coffee table music to dream too and love too. 'Running', the final track, has sad violin and acoustic guitar, a marriage made in heaven which is then backed by jangly guitar and lush vocals from Elise. It is absolutely lovely, and like the other tracks on this EP a song to chase away your sorrows
