intro
Fine second album from UK band Say which combines together C86 indiepop and West Coast loveliness
Fitting in halfway between C86 indiepop and West Coast loveliness, Say offer an excellent set of pop tunes. 'Multiverse' is Say's second album, and is filled with jangling guitar chords and harmony vocals, sure to lull you into that Spring and Summer mood. 'Free The Animals' borrows a moog riff from ELO, or Grandaddy if you insist, yet works perfectly. But next, kicking off side 2 of an LP as it were, we are lead into Alice In 1970's Wonderland with no parental guidance. And suggested to take our clothes off no matter what our bodies look like. One can only smirk and swing along to this absurdly pleasant pastiche of 10CC and Orange Juice, which merges together its contemporary issues with harmonic grace.
