Electric Eel Shock are a hard touring Japanese power rock trio. The group, which consists of Akihito Morimoto (guitar and vocals),Kazuto Maekawa (bass) and Gian (drums), left their native Tokyo in 1999 to try their luck in America. Self-described as a "glorious celebration of Classic Rock, Punk and Metal", Electric Eel Shock have spent the last six years constantly on the road, and have toured in over 25 countries, garnering a reputation as a fiery live act. They have also found time to record three albums, 'Slayers Bay Blues' (1999), a tour only studio album ; 'Go Europe' (2003) and 'Beat Me' (2005). A fourth CD, 'Transworld Ultra America' has also just been completed and is due for release in 2007. These photographs were taken by Katie Anderson exclusively for Pennyblackmusic on the 3rd December at a show at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms on their latest British tour.
