Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys are currently the hottest property around, music-wise. And it's not hard to see why with this their second single. 'When the Sun Goes Down' is another fizzy three-minute bash with lyricist Alex Turner turning his critical eye towards prostitutes and their clients. A topic that doesn't usually make it into the lexicography of pop. Probably by the time you read this the song will have given the four-piece their second number one, and deservedly so. Anyone that can articulate something a bit more sophisticated than: "Ooh, baby, shake yer booty and let's get it on" has to be applauded. They're not the saviours of skinny-boy indie guitar rock though and they probably don't want to be either.
