A freshly squeezed EP from London's 6 Day Riot quartet gently reminds us of the progression achieved by England's answer to 'Americana'. Unlike the French, the English will actually never gain from a riot, strike or revolution, and 6 Day Riot's EP illustrates perfectly how soothing sounds end in surrender. 'Bring On The Waves' should not exactly be the next response to the claim of a riot.
Here we have London popsters thriving on England's folk-pop music tradition. The line "Do as you will" gets repeated throughout the latter stages of only the EP's second song, 'Stay Father'. With the last song then mentioning a "high and dry', the 'Bring On The Waves' EP concludes in ever so many contradictions and reaches a highpoint of mystified folkness. 6 Day Riot may be very diluted but they're rather good at the folk-pop frenzy of today and the inconsistency in their scheme shines brightly in contrast to the band name and song titles they have chosen.
