Release Notes:
New Badawi. Although Raz Mesinai's, a/k/a Badawi's, last album "The
Unspeakable", successfully scared the hell out of us, we missed Raz's
trademark Middle Eastern percussion, and BEATS. 'Soldier of Midian',
Badawi's third ROIR release marks a return to this original style. It's
his most aggressive, and best album to date: an electro-acoustic
masterpiece. Raz samples his own live playing and agitates the mix with
the use of subtle effects. This music gallops from your speakers. If
you aren't familiar with the work of Raz Mesinai, who is also the 'dub'
in SubDub, check out ROIR's two previous Badawi releases, 'Bedouin Sound
Clash' (RUSCD/LP 8229) and 'Jerusalem Under Fire' (RUSCD 8234).
