The New Jersey-born singer/rapper Lauryn Hill will play live at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire this summer. The soul, r&b and hip-hop star will perform in the palace's Great Court on Friday 21 June along with Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Tears for Fears, White Lies and Scritti Politti at what promises to be a sell-out event. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nocturne Live director Ciro Romano said, “Lauryn Hill is someone who has always featured high on our wish-list. She is an uncompromising innovator who has had a huge impact on the development of contemporary music. A former member of the Fugees, Lauryn was a massive star in the 1990s with hits like ‘Ready or Not,’ ‘Fu-Gee-La’ and a brilliant reworking of Roberta Flack's ‘Killing Me Softly’. Her multi Grammy award-winning solo album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ has truly stood the test of time and tracks from it are sure to feature in her set. We are just so excited to be hosting Lauryn at this year's Nocturne Live.”

Lauryn herself added, “It will be a true privilege to play Blenheim... a real English palace! And I know it will be a great show. I am sure I'll be featuring songs from ‘The Miseducation’ which has been my only solo album. Though that wasn't the only good thing I did, you know! Being a member of the Fugees was amazing - truly groundbreaking. We were a multi-platinum group who bridged big social and cultural gaps and we were early ambassadors for hip-hop all around this planet. There's a whole generation of artists who built big careers on the groundwork the Fugees laid!”
