Lookup:
A pioneer of easy tune moog synthesizer music, Jean-Jacques Perrey is the originator of that sort of happy-go-lucky music which was subsequently made famous by Lipps Inc, Daft Punk and Gary Numan. Apprehensive viewers of 'QI' may remember Bill Bailey mentioning Monsieur Perrey.
Perrey's quirky cartoon tunes appear on this album with several live recordings that have included recent shows with David Chazam. This mish mash of an album works only to marginal benefit. Once you have got into the naive groove of Perrey's moog synthesizer entreprises, the mood is then slightly wasted by the live recordings. 'ELA' portrays the master at work, as well as the master of yesterday.
