Deacon Blue singer-songwriter Ricky Ross will release his sixth solo album, 'Trouble Came Looking', in April.
Set against the current background of global economic recession, the album's raw, acoustic tales of poverty, displacement and desperation are Ross's starkest work yet. The lyrics and pared-back arrangements – with strong instrumental support from Gregor Philip on guitar, banjo, mandolin and Lewis Gordon on double bass - perfectly reinforce the bleak social messages in the lyrics.
The album isn't always a comfortable listen - but it is strikingly poignant and an impressive example of Ross's creativity.
Ross, who presents BBC Radio Scotland's 'Another Country' as well as their 'Sunday Morning With...' will be touring smaller venues around the UK from 15 April with Gregor Philip.
