Imagine, if you will, the result of Nirvana being fronted by John Lydon, then you have a close idea of what this recently formed band sound like. Their snide lyrics, excellent guitar work, and strongly grounded drumming show off a group of some talent.
This EP opens with 'Dress-Down Day'. I soon had an appreciative smile on my face, as the track fused seamlessly into 'Beatnik Acoustics'. If there is one weak point, it is the third and final track, 'Why Are You So Awful ?', which is comparatively weak when compared to the excellence of the previous two tracks.
Needless to say, this self-titled head-rocking debut CD-single from Band of the Eye is well worth checking out, for their outstandingly good bouncy punk. These guys are going places!
