The Black Kites are a LA based four piece who formed in 2005. ‘The Emergency Exit’ EP is available as a download only.
‘What to Do in a Case of Emergency’ starts off sounding like a slowed-up version of ‘You Better, You Bet’ by the Who , before female vocalist Evelyn Reyes sings and the music begins to lushly flow all over you. She has an outstanding voice and if ‘What to Do in a Case of Emergency’ had been released in the 1980's it would have been massive.
‘Slow Exit’ is dreamy in sound, recalling the Cocteau Twins or even The Sundays with an added touch of shoegazing thrown in for good measure.
