Lifted from the utterly compelling 'Superwolf' album by the duo of Will Oldham (in his persona of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy) and guitarist Matt Sweeney, 'I Gave You' is a beautiful introduction to their work, if anyone's not actually familar with their work.
'I Gave You' is a bittersweet tale, gently understated, and still has the power to mesmerise with its apparent simplicity. Will Oldham is certainly one of the most charismatic musicians at the moment. Deserves to be listened over and over again.
