Release Notes:
As a band, hydroplane is about change. The first 7" in summer '96 was an experimental step away from their other band, the cat's miaow. It was supposed to be the only record released but positive response led to an lp and a single in summer '97. The lp sold out and the single was included in john peel's festive 50. A second album followed in fall 1999 as well as quite a few 7" and compilation appearances on other labels including wurlitzer jukebox, bad jazz, liquefaction, darla and elefant.the new lp is a step forward.they have taken a little bit from their own past and influences, a little bit from their peers, a lot from their imagination and created music that sounds little like anything else except maybe a more experimental version of saint etienne.
