Lookup:
Elly Jackson, the formerly flame-haired frontwoman of pop duo La Roux has just released her most personal album yet. 'Supervision' is set to low-slung rhythms a little reminiscent of Stevie Wonder or George Michael.
In her latest record Jackson explores lower tempos and a brighter, more textured musical sound leaving her trademark synths largely absent.
The track 'Automatic Driver' has frequent vocal runs bursting forth in a really colourful way, whilst 'Otherside' features a hip-swinging rhythm rather like early disco.
'Supervision' has no obvious hit single track but that is not necessarily a bad thing. For this is an album that stands up on its own.
Track Listing:
01) 21st Century
02) Do You Feel
03) Automatic Driver
04) International Woman of Leisure
05) Everything I Live For
06) Otherside
07) He Rides
08) Gullible Fool
