Hello and welcome to the September 2021 edition of the Pennyblackmusic Magazine. It has been a long time coming, but this new edition features our first live reviews and Photoscapes excluding streamed concerts since lockdown was announced in March of last year. It will be 2022 before the majority of bands will start touring again, but, while at one level it is a terrifying, prospect in this new reality of COVID, it does feel good to be starting to do this again. We are also very pleased to announce with this edition our first Bands Night in two years which will take place at the Water Rats on Gray’s Inn Road in London on January 29th next year. The bill will feature four acts who we have given a lot of focus to on the site -Idiot Son, Morton Valance, The Volunteered and Simon Bromide - and at £8 in advance and £10 on the door this will be an affordable but great night out. Please do come along if you are in London. Tickets are available in advance at: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/526134. As always this magazine has been put together by the support of a lot of talented people. Thank you also to Kimberly Bright, Steev Burgess, Adam Coxon, Nicky Crewe, Julie Cruickshank, Nick Dent-Robinson, Anthony Dhanendran, Dave Goodwin, Zena Greig, Tommy Gunnarsson, Adrian Janes, Steve Kinrade, Richard Lewis, Eoghan Lyng, Nat Mumford, Philamonjaro, Mark Rowland, Maarten Schiethart, Lisa Torem, Andrew Twambley and Cila Warncke, all of whom contributed to this edition. Special thanks to our webmaster Richard Banks, without whom none of this would be possible. We will be back in mid-October with a reviews update and then toawrds the end of that month with another full magazine. Please check out our regular Facebook and Twitter links. Thank you as always for reading Pennyblackmusic, John Clarkson Magazine Editor www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk
