Our Website of the Month is 'Blabber 'n' Smoke' https://paulkerr.wordpress.com/, the music website and blog of Glasgow-based music writer Paul Kerr, who also writes for 'Americana UK' and Maverick Magazine 'Blabber 'n' Smoke' is infamously the title of a song by Captain Beefheart and also a column in the legendary 70's rock music magazine 'Zigzag'. Paul says about his choice of name for his website, "I’ve purloined it here as it just about sums up what I do in my daily life, all I do is blabber ‘n’ smoke, blabber ‘n’ smoke etc etc." Paul describes 'Blabber 'n' Smoke' as being a "Glasgow view of Americana and related music and writings." It provides lively, thought-provoking and lengthy album and live reviews, and is updated usually two or three times s week. Its recent focus has been on Glasgow's annual two week music festival Celtic Connections, at which Paul has deliberately concentrated on the up-and-coming and cult acts that appeared at it rather than the mainstream names. For fans of Americana and folk music, 'Blabber 'n' Smoke' makes compelling and essential reading.
