Energetic and happy-sounding indie pop on debut single from excellent new Sheffield group Balor Knights

Balor Knights are indie pop audio joy in its finest form, a musical treat in the vein of The New Pornographers, but much less cheesy. This new double A-side single features the wonderful tracks ‘Tornado’ and ‘Get Straight’. ‘Tornado’ is a summery tune driven by a bouncing bass line and great vocal harmonising. The melody is one of those that effortlessly puts you in a good mood, and co-vocalists Balor Price and Em Scarlet are energetic and enjoyable. ‘Get Straight’ is a more driven indie track, with all the instruments turned up to 11. It’s an energetic track and I can see it going down really well in a club this summer – it’s a very danceable tune indeed! This single is well worth getting hold of, and Balor Knights are well worth looking out for in the future.
