intro

Bipolar mayhem on Burial's first EP for XL Recordings

Few musicians are consistently manic and Burial has developed a supreme blueprint for boundless rave symphonies. Humpty Dumpty and The Gremlins break loose on a cemetery of decayed house twelve inches, on the mini suite of the A-Side 'Dreamfear' with rattling 1990s rave beats. 'Dreamfear' runs as one track on side A but consists of several acts abridging mood changes with stunning agility. Burial becomes the disturbed Mike Oldfield of the dubstep generation going full orchestral on 'Boy Sent From Above'. Selling for the price of an EP, you get almost half an hour, packed with so many ideas and wicked turns that in the end you're baffled to the point of mutism. If there's anyone who might bring well-needed uproar to the charts, it must be Burial now that he is label mates with Ms Predictable Adèle.
