intro
Heartstoppingly superb power pop on new double A-sided 7 inch single from Welsh band Burning Ferns
Burning Ferns’ new double A-sided single is an offering of heartstoppingly superb power pop. 'Bullet Train' is perfectly crafted, full of ‘60s pop harmonies from Anthony Gray and Nathan Abraham that harken back to the Hollies, irresistible hooks, and jangly guitars. I’m simply blown away by how catchy it is. 'Fuses Blow' is another flawless melodic pop song about love gone terribly wrong, with relationship post-mortem lyrics set against a love song chord progression straight out of Big Star and the Byrds. It ends abruptly but with good humour. They should be easily shortlisted for next year’s Welsh Music Prize.
