intro
Bill Gray photographs Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Ian Prowse at a show in Glasgow
Often described as the “Scouse Springsteen”, Liverpool-based singer-songwriter Ian Prowse is best known for being the front man with the acclaimed 1990's group Pele and also the seven-piece band, Amsterdam, of which John Peel was a fan. In recent years as well as continuing to front Amsterdam, Prowse has also started a solo career. A career-spanning compilation of his work ‘Does This Train Stop On Merseyside: The Very Best Of Ian Prowse’ came out in 2012. He has recently released his debut solo album, ‘Who Loves Ya Baby?’ These photographs of Ian Prowse were taken by Bill Gray for Pennyblackmusic at a show at Nice n’ Sleazy in Glasgow on the 24th May.
