intro
Excellent super fast and thrashy new wave on vinyl only single from indie duo, the Lovely Eggs
This is the latest single from married couple Holly Ross and David Blackwell. The Lovely Eggs were born in Paris, but hail from up north. They love food, and their songs are food obsessed and enormous fun. The band promote food in all its forms, even though they are actually vegetarian in real life. ‘Food’, the A Side, is super fast, thrashy Ramones/Shonen Knife/Buzzcocks new wave played at a speed that you have to be super fit to keep up with them. The band are only a 2 piece, but that is enough. If ‘Food’ doesn't have you jumping up and down, pogoing and miling then frankly, my dear, you are dead. The B side, ‘In Watermelon Sugar’, is acoustic and laid back, sounding like a combination if indie pop and Nico waking up from her slumber lost in the Paris sunshine. It is a slice of total indie heaven.
