intro

Excellent new Americana-influenced single from Liverpool's Cranebuilders

Liverpool's Cranebuilders just seem to get better every time I see them, or with every new release. Sadly this is only a single, when we should of had an album in the summer, but it is still lovely. 'So What I Could Do' sounds very Americana and has a touch of the Velvets draped over it. Frontman Tommy Roberts duets with organist Helen Turner, who sings her parts in country gal fashion 'Trouble' recalls the Tindersticks, and is slow and drawn out and wonderful. This single is a beauty.
