Debut single by the fades still available on cds as their new one is released
this week (still on the xfm playlist ). Most popular taster on the music
response chart with zane lowe and a claire sturgess session in feb.“with the
urgency of the clash at their best and guitars so deep down n' dirty they'd
scare even black rebel motorcycle club, it’s no wonder that the intense london
four-piece have already gained the support of steve lamacq on radio 1 .playing
music like their lives depended on it and then some, the fades have already been
likened to a whole bunch of bands including the smiths, the manics and the hives
and the buzzcocks. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.” Matt tomiak –

The second single from london’s fades harnesses all the best bits of the ruts,
the stones, the buzzcocks and of course the clash, the fades write and perform
crafted yet riotous songs with a distinctly english feel which are already
attracting major label interest. Track 1, life support, is in the words of the
band about being emotionally drained. Track 2, blade, was written after the
singer dave read an article in a newspaper about a guy who spent months building
a guillotine to cut off his own head.track 3, another song about motorbikes, is
an obscure punk cover version of a creepers’ track. ‘with the urgency of the
clash at their best and guitars so deep down n dirty they’d scare even black
rebel motorcycle club” steve lamacq on radio 1.
